Who are we?
Mark A. Christensen has been active in the high tech industry for over two decades. He left Intel Corporation after
a 23 year career, where he was Corporate Vice-President and Director of Communications Sectors for Intel
Capital. In that position, Mr Christensen was responsible for managing Intel Capital’s investments in Mobile
devices and Communications Infrastructure. This included all equity investments, and M&A activity for cellular,
wired and wireless networking and communications. He left Intel in early 2005 to form Global Capital
Management, LLC to provide consulting services to technology startup companies.
Mr Christensen held many positions at Intel including Vice President and General Manager of Intel's Network
Communications Group (NCG). Christensen was responsible for the management of Intel's networking
communications silicon business, including over 30 sites in ten geographies worldwide. NCG designed,
manufactured, and sold a wide range of communications silicon and software products that enable services in
the new Internet economy. NCG products included Ethernet client and server adapters, home networking and
broadband connectivity solutions, optical electronic and modules, and a family of network and storage
processors including the Intel® Internet Exchange Architecture.
Christensen joined Intel in 1982 as a Manufacturing Development Engineer for Oregon Sites System
Manufacturing. Previously, Christensen served as Project Manager for Intel's network adapter line introduction,
and as Director of Marketing for the Network Products Division. Mark was promoted to Vice President and General
Manager of Network Products Division in 1997 and was made Corporate Vice President of the Network
Communications Group in 1998. He moved into his position as the Director of the Mobile and Communications
Sector within Intel Capital in 2000. He is a two-time winner of Intel's highest award for excellence, the "Intel
Achievement Award".
Christensen was born in Fremont, Ohio, in 1959. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial
Engineering from Oregon State University in 1982. He is a charter member of Oregon State Unitversity's
Academy of Distinguished Engineers, and has been awarded their Council of Outstanding Early Career
Engineers Award. He received a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon in
1989.
